Operation Sindoor Live Updates: 70 Terrorists Killed in 24 Missile Attacks on 9 Terrorist Camps in Pakistan

Operation Sindoor Live Updates: The Indian Defence Ministry said that nine locations were targeted in a military operation.

Early Wednesday morning, the Indian armed forces launched 24 precise missile strikes on nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). These included Muridke and Bahawalpur, where major terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed are based. Over 70 terrorists were killed and more than 60 were injured. This has weakened these terror groups’ ability to operate.

The strikes happened at 1:44 a.m. and were a response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag (Jammu & Kashmir) on April 22. That attack killed 26 people — 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.

The Defence Ministry confirmed that the strikes hit terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK, which were used to plan attacks on India.

The Ministry said the operation was careful and limited in scope. No Pakistani military sites were hit. India chose its targets and methods carefully to avoid escalation.

India has kept its promise to hold those behind the April 22 attack responsible.

These strikes happened just hours before a countrywide mock security drill across 244 districts, meant to prepare for possible attacks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India will chase those responsible for the April 22 attack “to the ends of the earth” and punish them in ways they can’t imagine.
