ADNIC and Sheikh Zayed Housing Program Launch Life Insurance for UAE Citizens
The Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) has teamed up with the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program to offer a new life insurance plan for eligible UAE citizens.
What’s special about this insurance?
This new life insurance covers people until they are 95 years old—much longer than the usual limit of 70 years. UAE citizens up to 70 years old can now apply for housing loans with repayment periods of up to 25 years.
ADNIC will manage the insurance program along with other local insurance companies. The housing loans under this program are provided by well-known local banks that have been part of the program since it started.
Even though the program is already active at these banks, the recent signing event marked its official public launch.
Housing loan support
In June, the Abu Dhabi government approved housing support worth $1.3 billion (AED 4.6 billion) for UAE citizens. This brings the total housing support given in 2025 to $3.1 billion (AED 11.38 billion).
Most of this support comes from housing loans worth $1.2 billion (AED 4.4 billion), helping 2,862 people.
The government also approved an extra payment of $68,064 (AED 250,000) for current loan recipients. This includes a monthly loan payment cut of up to 50%, plus other helpful services.
In Dubai, the government cancelled mortgage debts worth $27.5 million (AED 101 million) for 303 Emiratis in June.
ADNIC’s earnings
ADNIC earned $32.6 million (AED 119.6 million) in profit after tax in the first quarter of 2025. That’s up from $27.5 million (AED 100.9 million) during the same time last year.
