Kuwait’s KFH Reports 7.9% Rise in Core Earnings for First Half of 2025

Kuwait Finance House (KFH), the first Islamic bank in the Gulf, reported strong results for the first half of 2025. Its main banking operations performed well, helping boost its earnings.

Earnings Highlights

KFH’s core earnings (net operating income) grew by 7.9% to $1.84 billion, thanks to higher income from financing, better cost control, and more loans given out.

Net profit increased slightly by 0.3% to $1.12 billion. Each share earned 19.23 fils.
The bank’s income from financing activities rose 8.7% to $1.98 billion, while total operating income grew 6.4% to $2.85 billion, even though there was no special one-time gain like last year.

The bank’s total loans (financing receivables) went up by 7.1% to $66.3 billion. Total assets reached $125.1 billion, and customer deposits increased 2.7% to $64 billion. Shareholders’ equity rose to $18.2 billion.
KFH’s capital adequacy ratio, a measure of financial strength, stood at 18.01%. The bank also announced a cash dividend of 10 fils per share.

Steady Performance Despite Challenges

Chairman Hamad Abdulmohsen Al-Marzouq said the bank’s strong results came from steady performance in both local and global markets, despite economic and political challenges.

KFH continued to support large development projects in different sectors while staying committed to Islamic finance.
It also made progress in the region by renaming Ahli United Bank Bahrain to KFH Bahrain under the new brand “Beyond Horizons.”

Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

KFH increased its green financing, improved ESG (environmental, social, and governance) practices, and kept its “A” rating from MSCI. It also stayed on the FTSE4Good Index.

On the tech side, the bank launched “Fahad,” Kuwait’s first AI-powered virtual assistant, and improved its KFHOnline app, which now has over 200 digital services.
